~DELICIOUS Tres Leches (3 milk cake!)~

TRES LECHES CAKE....THREE (or 4) MILK CAKE --HEATHER

4 eggs / 1 cup sugar / 1 cup flour
1 Tablespoon baking powder
4 Tablespoons of ICE COLD WATER

Preparation:
Seperate the 4 egg whites from the 4 egg yolks. In a large bowl (WITH AN ELECTRIC MIXER ON HIGH) BEAT the 4 egg whites until they are very fluffy. (Like snow.) Then add the egg yolks ONE AT A TIME and keep beating. Keep beating and add the SUGAR 1 TABLESPOON AT A TIME!!!!
In a sep. small bowl, mix the Tablespoon of baking powder in with the 1 cup of flour. LOWER THE SPEED OF THE MIXER AND add the FLOUR/Baking powder MIXTURE... 1 TABLESPOON AT A TIME. Add the 4 Tablespoons of ICE WATER...1 TABLESPOON AT A TIME, ADDING SLOWLY! When all is mixed well, pour this into a 9X13 pyrex dish that has BEEN GREASED AND FLOURED WELL. Bake at 350 for 20-30 min. depending on the oven. (can check with a toothpick.)

THE THREE OR FOUR MILKS: (BLEND THESE TOGETHER)
1 can of evaporated milk
1 can of sweetened condensced milk
1 cup of half and half
1/4 cup of reg. milk
Blend these milks together in the blender and POUR OVER THE HOT CAKE, making sure that the sides and corners get some too. (You can poke holes in the cake if you want to.) Cover and Place in Refrigerator until COLD. Then put Coolwhip on top right before you serve. SERVE IT COLD!!!
If you have any questions just email me back. Sure, it sounds like a lot of work....BUT IT'S WORTH IT!!!

Sounds very Yummy! We have a Christmas dinner tomorrow night so I might try it then. I have heard of this only adding some Coco to the cake mixture. Not sure how much though.

I did Make this for Christmas Dinner and everyone loved it. I did a different twist of taking vanilla frosting and adding 1/4 tsp Peppermint extract and 2 drops of red food coloring to it. Definitely a keeper.

I've got this in the oven for a business lunch tomorrow. It was strange to mix up a cake that way. I can't wait to taste it! I'm taking a posole (with 'real' chorizo) soup, warm tortillas, and this. (I do Pampered Chef, so it's for a dentist office that did a catalog show for me).
