~Colombian Visas and Taco Bell.~

Melanie's last week with us we had to run 3 of those days to try to renew our Colombian visas.  This might sound fun...but is VERY STRESSFUL!!!  Trying to get everyone ready, SKIPPING BREAKFAST as we RUN out the door to make sure we are there on time, standing and PRAYING for a kind taxi driver to stop and pick us up (for MANY pass us by), Crowding 9 people into a small taxi (including the driver), riding one hour one-way in traffic (Praying the whole entire way that God will protect us from the scary taxi driver's driving), trying to get to the visa office before they close at noon, sitting in an office and trying to keep Mary and Elijah happy until our number is called, making sure we have copies of every paper that they ask for, (And they always forget to tell you something that you HAVE TO HAVE.)  Finding out we needed to produce copies of all of our Birth Certificates, when they already have our originals.  Then paying $325.00 just for them to look at our applications, then PAYING over $1,000 more to process them!  Well, today we found out something... Go HERE to find out what happened with our visas.
~One of the MANY days while we were filling out paper work for our Colombian visas in a park close to the visa office, Sarah came skipping up to us EXCITED-LY and told us that she had just seen THIS!!!~

~Of all the US fast food restaurants that we miss...Wendy's, Skyline Chili, and Taco Bell would be at the top! So, we were THRILLED when we found out that there is now a Taco Bell in Bogota!!  So, since we had had NO BREAKFAST and our stomachs were eating our backbones...when we finished working on our paper work, we went and ate lunch at Taco Bell.~
~Elijah, Sarah, and Noah enjoying Taco Bell.~
~Phillip, Heather, Kimberly, and Melanie enjoying Taco Bell.~
~YUM! YUM!  Notice that the shadow of the cup at the top of this picture makes a bell?! =)~

Thank the Lord for both! Sorry for all the grief of the visas but so glad that they are secure. As for the Taco Bell I remember their delight in getting to eat that type of food. I think it may be a part of growing up in the Southwest part of the US. Love, to you all, Moma

I could just see Sarah as she came skipping up to tell you her good news about the Taco Bell. It made my heart smile.
Since your family doesn't have time to have a nervous breakdown over all that happens during your busy days, I think I'll just go ahead and have one for you!
I am excited about your next phase of missionary work in Argentina!
Love, Mom D

Great news about the visas! We just came through that long (and expensive) process ourselves - except ours are only good for 1 year.

And how exciting to find a Taco Bell?! I love when God blesses us with a little "taste from home!"

I'm SOOOO happy for you! We well remember what it meant to our family to visit the nearest McDonald's, driving nearly 2 hrs, while we were in Russia. Now they have one in that same town! My how things change! Love you all much,
Laura
