~Our trip to Iguazu...part 1!~

Our computer died, so I haven't been able to blog for nearly 2 weeks.
Thanks to a dear friend fixing it...I'M BACK!
First off:  Kimberly and Noah had a birthday last week!  They were born on the same day...6 years apart.
Kimberly turned the BIG 18, and Noah turned 12!
Here's a few pics that I put on FB, but I want to blog as well.

~Their birthday breakfast table.~
~Yummy Jimmy Dean American sausage...fun to enjoy that again!~
 ~Frozen Kashi wholewheat blueberry waffles.~
 ~Coffee with all the creamers.~
 ~Yummy maple syrup~

~A LOT changes in one year.  Abigail was wearing these new born diapers on the left last time we were here!
~Now...she has to wear a football helmet to protect her from her brothers.  Ha! Ha!~

Now here are a TON of pictures from our FUN trip to see the BEAUTIFUL Iguazu falls!
(Click on link above for more info and pics)
-" These falls on the border of Argentina and Brazil put others to shame. ...
Iguazu Falls: Why this natural wonder should be on everyone's bucket list"...

We enjoyed a 5 day trip with our Dear friends, Leo and Caro, Jonathan (Bubu) and Valen!
Our trip was completely paid for!
Our family had secretly WANTED to go and see another part of Argentina before leaving Argentina...but we told NO ONE of that desire, and had planned to leave Argentina with only seeing Buenos Aires!
So you can imagine our SURPRISE AND EXCITEMENT when some DEAR FRIENDS told us they were going to pay our way to go see the Iguazu Falls!
Our trip was Friday, Dec. 11th - Tues. Dec. 15th
There are SO M.A.N.Y. PICTURES...so you grab a cuppa and ENJOY SEEING THESE BEAUTIFUL PICS OF ONE OF THE 7 NATURAL WONDERS OF THE WORLD,
or you can skim through them really quickly!
This is a ONCE-IN-A-LIFETIME trip so I wanted to post ALL these pics for our family to have when I print
out my blog book!
~Kimberly and Abigail in the airport before we left for Iguazu~

~In the airport before we boarded.~
 ~Abigail playing shy~

 ~In the airplane~
~We arrived in our VERY NICE hotel called Bourbon Convention and Spa Resort in Foz de Iguazu!
~Here were are in the hotel lobby getting our I.D. bands put on us that we had to wear all 5 days,
so we could come and go from the hotel, restaurants, and nature preserve!~

 ~Inside the hotel...we were on the 6th floor.~

~Lots of play rooms for the kids.~

~Behind the hotel was a nice forest with paths to walk, and then there were also basket ball courts, soccer, tennis, playground, small animal zoo, garden, and indoor games as well.

 ~The front of the hotel~
~The kids pool with a playground that sprayed water.  Jesus let every one go to supper and so we had the pool to ourselves!  Thank you, Dear Jesus!~

~Abigail's pamper....was quite water logged.  We didn't have any swimming pampers with us.~

~There were 2 pools.  The kids one and the adult one.  The tall part of the hotel to the RIGHT is where we stayed.~

~We were so privileged to get to stay in this BEAUTIFUL hotel for FREE!!~

~Some evenings inside the hotel, there was a group gathered around the piano playing soft music.~
~Where we ate supper the first night.~
~A Mariachi Band playing while we ate.  It reminded us SO MUCH of our Colombia.~
~IT WAS A HUGE BUFFET WITH DELICIOUS FOOD!!~
~Abigail got her own little bed... which meant that ....
~Mary GOT THE WHOLE BED TO HERSELF!~
~The Continental breakfast was OUT OF THIS WORLD!  Kimberly and Sarah are standing where you custom order Brazilian type crepes and omelets.~
~I didn't get very many pics, but here's the fresh fruit including mango, grapes, pineapple, papaya, etc., then there were tons of breads, tons of meats and cheeses, 4 types of juices, coffees, hot chocs., cereals, yogurts, bacon, sausage, eggs, ETC!~
~After our yummy breakfast we took a bus to go to the Falls on the Brazilian side.~
~Noah and Bubu being crazy wearing 2 different shoes.~
 ~The girls~
 ~Sweet Aunt Caro with Abigail~

 ~Merry Christmas in Portuguese.~
~OUR FIRST SIGHT OF THE IGUAZU FALLS!
WHEN PRESIDENT ROOSEVELT'S WIFE, ELEANOR ROOSEVELT SAW THESE FALLS YEARS AGO, SHE SAID:
"POOR NIAGARA!!"~
~THERE WERE FALLS AROUND EVERY CORNER FOR ABOUT 2 MILES.  WE ARE TALKING L.O.T.S. OF WATER!~
 ~THESE FALLS WERE AMAZING!~

 ~Leo and Caro taking an group-ie! :-) ~
~I thought it was SO NEAT to find this Scripture verse Psalm 93:4 on the wall there at the falls!~

~Around every corner was another falls!~

 ~A MIGHTY AMOUNT OF WATER!!~

 ~Now YOU See Abigail...~
~Now you don't!~
 ~THESE FALLS WERE AMAZING!!!~
~The bridge you could walk out on.  It was QUITE scary being out there and thinking about the BRIDGE getting washed away!~

~We got SOAKED out on this bridge.~

~Looking back down on the bridge where we had just been.~

~That's a TON WATER behind us!!
 ~Snack time!~

~Freezing Abigail wrapped up in Kimberly's blue blouse.~
 ~Abigail "kissing" Kimberly.~

~Looking back down on the bridge again.~
 ISN'T OUR GOD AWESOME?!!!
THESE FALLS TAKE YOUR
BREATH AWAY!~

~There were lots "coatis" at Iguazu Falls,. ... strange looking animals that vaguely resemble raccoons. One of them jumped up and bit a whole in our snack bag!~
 ~He was happy for a snack!~
 ~These Coatis were EVERYWHERE!~
~Looking from the Brazilian side of the Falls....over to the bridge on the Argentine side of the Iguazu falls!~
 ~Ramen Noodle and coffee time!~

~We got to ride A DOUBLE DECKER BUS back!
Mary, Valen, and Sarah!~
 ~Leo, Phillip, and Abigail~

~We got back in time for the kids to play in the water again.  God again...made all the people of the hotel GET HUNGRY FOR SUPPER...so they cleared out and the kids got to swim alone.~

~The kids swam in their clothes.  One person asked if we were AMISH!  :-) ~

~Since the HUGE pool was empty except for our kids, Phillip and Leo jumped in and took a quick swim with their kids.~
 ~Christmas lights by the hotel.~
~The supper at the hotel was AMAZING!  Yummy buffet, yummy salads, yummy desserts, ...
 ~And live piano music.~
 ~One of the beautiful salads.~
 ~Yummy pretty cheese.~

 ~Mary, Valen, Sarah, and Kimberly~
 ~Bubu, Noah, and Elijah.~
~Abigail, Phillip, Leo, Caro, and Heather.~
~It was so FUN being with Leo, Caro, Bubu (Jonathan), and Valen...
at this LUXURIOUS HOTEL...and at Christmas time too.
All the Christmas decor was so pretty.
Caro and I with some Christmas decor.~

What a beautiful and fancy trip this turned out to be, and the hotel was as awesome as the falls in it's own way. "The heavens declare the glory of God and the firmament showeth his handiwork"; when I see these pictures of all this neat stuff, it lets me know that this trip was worth every bit of the stress and even tiredness that it took to get ready to go. I'm glad you were able to capture most of this adventure by way of your camera because these pictures will help to keep all of this elaborate vacation alive in your Book of Memories in your heart. Too, then we were able to get a glimpse of the majesty of these Falls and to get a taste of the experiences you had on the trail to the bridge and back. Now, if we just could have had a taste of that food showing in these pictures! Ha!
These pictures were an enjoyment to look at, and it was delightful to see each one of you dear people participating in this adventure with One of The Seven Wonders of the World.
I think Noah and BuBu were one of the wonders of the sights there, what with them wearing two different shoes part of the time. They were silly boys having fun and it made me laugh looking at the pictures of them! Love these pictures! Love these people! Mom D.
